Oh Mother Dear
How I wish you was near
To help guide me through
The next coming years
Mom, why did you leave me?
To fend for myself
When I was so young and
I needed your care.
Mom, you was my best friend
I was 23 and so all alone
Still a baby with
Babies to raise
Mom it’s been 30 years now and
I have made it thus far
It’s not been easy and
Mistakes I have made
Wish you had been here
To take away the pain
Mom you are still the best friend
That a daughter could have
Even without you
I have not turned out that bad.
